We had a lovely walk from Gunnerside to Reeth which together with the beautiful weather and the friendliness of your drivers, Pauline, helped make it an excellent day all round.

I wanted to drop you a note to say a big thank you for stepping into the breach on Sunday morning and supplying us with a coach at the very last moment when we were let down by another coach provider.

I truly believed when we were standing outside in the car park in Consett on a very foggy and cold morning, that the trip we had spent so much time organising was not going to go ahead. I was overjoyed when I contacted Stanley Travel and there was someone there to take our call and respond so positively.

Because you were able to help us, we were able to proceed with our work and conduct a piece of consultation we had planned to do on the trip and we were able to make better connections with the communities in Consett.

The driver looked after us very well, stopping for breaks when the children needed the toilet etc.

So all that's left to say is a big thumbs up for Stanley Travel.

I have just returned from a Study Experiences visit with 45 of our children, and I felt I had to write to praise your driver, Malcolm for the Brilliant service he gave us. I have been teaching and organising visits and trips for over 34 years and I know that such events can be a nightmare for coach drivers! However, Malcolm treated all our children with courtesy and made the visit very special. His in depth knowledge of the streets and roads in London made the whole thing very easy from an adult perspective and we were all impressed with the standard of driving and the safety displayed throughout the visit.

I would also like to give a little mention to your Polish driver, Andrew, who drove us down to Wetherby. He was also very couteous and we were immediately impressed with the safety announcment he made about the first aid ket etc. I have never known this happen on a coach before!


This experience will ensure that we make another visit through Study Experiences next year.

We have had trips out before, but I've never taken all my disabled members with me, your driver made sure all of them were really looked after & they all wanted me to write and let you know that Andy is a great assett t your company. I was very impressed with how Stanley Coaches were able to help a party coming in from Northern Ireland whose flight had been cancelled due to volcanic ash. My station manager at Chester-le-Street had her father and nine friends coming back from Northern Island and needing transport back to County Durham from the ferry terminal at Stranraer at zero notice.
After a couple of phone calls, a minicoach was dispatched to Stranraer to meet the ferry, the driver being helpful, friendly and efficient. The ten passengers helped fill the 16 seater by recruting four more people on the ferry who were trying to get to Doncaster.
All in all an excellent operation which confirms my opinion that Stanley Travel is the local coach operator of choice for us here at Chester-le-Track.

The next time I see a Stanley Coach pass by, I will smile and give a cheery wave,
The next time I see a Stanley driver perspiring with over endeavour I will wipe his brow and quench his thirst, non-alcoholic? Of course!
The next time I see a Stanley driver with too little time to eat, I will cause him to pause and give him sustenance!
The next time I see a Stanley Driver with mechanical difficulties I will stop and give him a hand!

Last November, Midday on the Remembrance Saturday, our whole party was electronically evicted from a posh Kensington Hotel for non payment of dues, we were all aghast! As we had done so many months ago! Anyone prepared to pay twice would be allowed re-entry, few were able, few were inclined, our whole weekend destroyed!
Walking to the Albert Hall for the Remembrance Festival afternoon performance, everyone was pre-occupied with “where could we stay, and even worse, how would we get home” The performance already had it’s sad moments, we now added our own.
Heavy footed, disheartened and subdued, we walked in similar fashion.
To our amazement, on entering the hotel foyer, we were met by fellow members, laughing, joking, clapping and behaving as if they had just won the Lottery!
There, in the midst of the crowd stood the reason why, your driver - Malcolm West, our own fairy godfather who uttered those never to be forgotten words “You shall go to the ball” and we did, only this time with triple enjoyment, our remembrance weekend was saved!

We have travelled to many away games and Andy was the designated driver of your very comfortable wheelchair accessible coach, and what a gem you have, as Andy is always clean, immaculate in his uniform and very cheerful. He never lets us down, and is always on time. We feel very safe when he is driving and his rapport with the passengers is first class.
